Q&A

Questions-and-Answers

This page is dedicated to helping both non-believers and struggling Christians who may have unanswered questions about the bible or to encourage their faith and walk with Jesus. These common Q&A's are here to help lead you to Jesus for the first time or to cause a recommitment to Christ! If there is a Q&A that you are seeking which is not shown below, please use our contact us form or email us at: admin@servantsforjc.org.

  1. Was Jesus really the son of God or just a simple prophet? Yes, Jesus was God's only Son, Immanuel, meaning "God with Us!" Jesus came to the earth 2,000 years ago as God in the flesh as a human to pay the price for our sins and to fulfill God's will and incredible love for us. He was much more than a prophet. Jesus was the one and only true Savior of the world. The prophets of the Old Testament foretold of Jesus nearly 700 years before He came to earth via the virgin birth of Mary (Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6-7, Jeremiah 23:5-6, Micah 5:2, Hosea 11:1). Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords! His name is above every name!
  2. Is there only one path to heaven or are there several ways to reach heaven? The bible clearly tells us that there is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ, God's only Son. The world teaches many ways, but these are false since Jesus is the one and only true Messiah! Jesus carried out His Father's will for us as stated in John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son (Jesus) into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." God only gave us one option to receive His salvation for us and His name is JESUS! He is the only way (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).
  3. Did Jesus really die for our sins and overcome death by ascending into heaven? Yes, Jesus paid the price for our sins so that we would not spend eternity in hell. He gave us true salvation by conquering death, hell, and the grave! Our Savior is Risen! (Isaiah 53:5-6, Matthew 28:1-8, Acts 4:10-12, 1 Corinthians 15:22, 1 Peter 3:18).
  4. Was Jesus sinless when He walked on earth as a man? Yes, Jesus, although walked in the flesh among us, He has always been the Son of God (John 1:1-5) and carried out a sinless life as an example for all believing Christians to follow (Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Peter 2:21-22, 1 John 3:5). We are called to walk by and live in the spirit as Jesus did. Do NOT believe all the lies that the world tries to stir up about Jesus that He was just a man and not a savior, or that He was sinful, or was married to Mary Magdalene and had a family, etc.
  5. How do I become saved, a born again believer, through Jesus? You must believe and confess that God sent His only Son Jesus to die for our sins by praying the sinner's prayer. You must acknowledge that you are a wicked sinner and you must repent of your sins for your Savior Jesus Christ to save you from eternal condemnation in hell. After asking Jesus to save you and live in your heart and by confessing your faith to God through Jesus on being saved and becoming a believer (John 3:16-21), you must make another profession of faith by joining a bible believing church and becoming baptized. Now you are called to help bring others to Christ by spreading the good news (gospel) to unbelievers (Mark 16:15-16).
  6. What will happen to all unbelievers if they die without accepting Christ as there Savior? All Atheists, Agnostics, and unbelievers if died today without turning to Jesus and accepting Him as their Lord and Savior would wake up at the Great Judgement Day and be condemned by God & Jesus to the everlasting lake of fire (hell) for punishment of sins. Jesus is the only redeemer of sins and if we do not have a relationship with Him then we are doomed to hell (Romans 6:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10, John 3:18-21).
  7. Has God always existed and been here? Yes, God's word tells us that God has always been here and that He created all living things. God existed before time began. He will always remain (Isaiah 44:6-8, Revelation 1.8). In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and all living things. (Genesis 1:1-31).
  8. If God really does exist, why is there so much hurt and darkness in the world? God does exist and He has always existed. God is very much in control of everything because He created all things. God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, omnibenevolent, etc. God's word tells us that when we are sinners, God is far from us. If we repent and seek Him first and foremost everything will be added unto us. We have to be born again believers through Jesus for God to recognize us as His children. Romans 8:28 tells us that, "...we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Sometimes its very difficult for us to comprehend or explain why bad things may seem to happen to good people, but God's word tells us that He loves us unconditionally. The book of Job is a great example of how disaster and tragedy happened to a good and faithful servant but in the end God blessed Him more than double after Job passed the test. God gave us the free gift of salvation through His only Son Jesus so that we could spend eternal life with Him, where there will be no more suffering or tears for eternity (John 3:15-21, James 1:12-19, Psalm 34:15-19, Revelation 21:4).
  9. How do we know that the bible is the true word of God? God's word (Holy Bible) is very true since it was inspired by God through His chosen prophets, disciples, and apostles (Matthew 24:35). The making of the bible through its different books and God-inspired authors spanned a total of approximately 1,600 years (1 Corinthians 2:13-14, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
  10. Why is God's Word (Holy Bible) so important for us? All of God’s word has been written by God-inspired authors and prophets through His Holy Spirit revealed to His authors and NOT by man’s own interpretation – (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21). The bible is a powerful God-inspired book of scriptures that consist of 39 books in the Old Testament (OT) and 27 books in the New Testament (OT) for a total of 66 books comprised of 31,102 verses. There is awesome power in this book because these are words from the all-powerful, all-knowing, and almighty Creator of all creation, including the heavens and earth. This holy book gives us God’s instructions, teachings, and commandments for repentanceforgivenesssalvation, and many more – (Hebrews 4:12). The bible a is lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path – (Psalms 119:105). God’s word (Sword of the Spirit), helps us stand against evil forces of darkness – (Ephesians 6:11-18). Jesus, God’s only Son, tells us the major importance of His word in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” This tells us that God’s word will remain forever, in this life and the next life to come. Therefore, we believe the bible’s true meaning for us today is the “Best Instructions Before Leaving Earth.”
  11. What does the Holy Trinity Represent? The Holy Trinity represents God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Spirit (Holy Spirit). These are three persons in one (John 1:1-5, John 10:30, 1 John 5:7).
  12. Did the earth, planets, and stars evolve by a Big Bang Theory? No, the bible clearly teaches that God made all things, including the heavens and the earth, and all living creatures including mankind. Do not believe the lies that the world teaches that we evolved from chance or Big Bang. (Genesis 1:1-31, Psalm 8:3-5, Romans 1:20, Hebrews 1:10-12).
  13. Did humans come from monkeys or apes? No, God's word tells us that God created all living things for His purpose and glory. Humans are made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-28, Psalm 139:13-16, Zechariah 12:1, Ecclesiastes 11:5).
  14. Does hell really exist or is it just a myth? The world may tell you that there is NO hell, but this is false. God's word clearly tells us that hell is very real and is for eternity (Numbers 16:31-33, Matthew 13:37-43, Mark 9:43-48, Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 14:9-11). Because of our sinful nature, we needed a Savior. If you reject God, Jesus, and His word/commandments, then you are doomed for eternal punishment in hell. Accepting, acknowledging, and confessing that Jesus is the only Savior and true Son of God will give you eternal acceptance into heaven with Him.
  15. Is Satan (the devil) and demons real? Yes, Satan and his followers or fallen angels (known as demons) are very real. In heaven, Lucifer was one of the most beautiful and powerful angels that God had created but because of his pride, he fell from heaven to earth as Satan (Isaiah 14:12-21, Ezekiel 28:12-19, 2 Corinthians 11:14, 1 Peter 5:8, Jude 1:6, Revelation 12:7-9). Satan and a third of the angels that rebelled against God were kicked out of heaven and will eventually suffer eternal punishment in hell.
  16. Did the Great Flood really happen or was this a myth? Yes, the Great Flood DID happen and this is NO myth. God saw how wicked His creation on the earth had become and was very sorry that He had created them. God destroyed all living creatures on the earth with a Great Flood (Genesis 6:5-8), except the 8 humans (Noah's Family) and living creatures that were spared from His wrath (Genesis 6:13-22). God even gave us a covenant or sign in the sky, rainbow, that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood. We can still see the rainbow in the sky today (Genesis 9:11-17).
  17. If the garden of Eden was so perfect, why did God put the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the garden and tell Adam & Eve not to eat of it? Why did He allow Satan the serpent to tempt them? We may not have all the answers of everything that happened in the garden of Eden and why it all happened, except what's explained in God's word (Genesis 1:8 - 2:24). Since the fall of Lucifer (Satan), Satan and his followers have rebelled against God. Satan hates us because we are created in the image and likeness of God. Satan is pleasured when we sin and we fall away from God (1 John 3:8). God desires us to choose to love Him daily. If we choose to love Him daily then we will follow His word and commandments. Adam & Eve only had to follow one major rule without breaking it. If God forces us to love Him then its not real love. We must choose (by free will) daily of whom we will love and serve (Joshua 24:14-15).
  18. Why do my prayers NOT get answered? God answers prayers according to His will. If our prayers fit His will and plan for us, He will answer them. We must also pray with faith and believe they will be answered according to His will. Sometimes our prayers take time since God's timing is perfect and not the same as our timing. If we are living in sin and not forgiving others (brothers & sisters), our prayers will be hindered (Jeremiah 29:11-13, 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, Psalm 66:18, Matthew 6:9-14, Ephesians 6:18, Hebrews 11:6, James 4:3-4, 1 Peter 3:7, 1 John 5:14-15). We must continue our daily walk with God through Jesus in love by praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-19). Also, you need to be a born again believer through Jesus to approach God (John 14:6).
  19. How do we obtain our spiritual gift from God? God gives all born again believers at least one spiritual gift for serving the body of Christ (church) and His ministry by His Holy Spirit (Romans 12:1-8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). Some may obtain spiritual gifts immediately where others may not obtain for years after being saved (Ephesians 4:7-16, 1 Peter 4:8-11). We must walk daily with God by praying and studying His word in order to obtain our spiritual gift(s). We must seek God first and have love for one another otherwise we are nothing and are gifts are useless (1 Corinthians 13:1-13).
  20. Are we currently living in what the bible calls the end of days? Yes, although the great tribulation has not happened yet, we are definitely living in the last days as Jesus explained the beginning of sorrows or birthing pains that would increase in intensity and frequency leading up to the great tribulation (Mark 13:4-8). Some of God's people will endure trials and tribulation for the faith but many will be spared from the great tribulation when Jesus comes back to rapture the church (all bible believing Christians), (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18).
  21. What is the rapture and when will it happen? The rapture of the church (all bible believing Christians) is not clear in the scriptures of exactly when this will happen but there appears to be more biblical evidence that it will happen sometime prior to or during the great tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18). God will spare the believers from His wrath being poured out on earth during the great tribulation. No one knows the day or hour of when this will happen except God the Father. The unbelievers will be left behind and will go through and experience the great tribulation (God's Wrath) during the rise of the Antichrist (1st Beast) and False Prophet (2nd Beast), (Revelation 13:1-18).
  22. What are the beasts that rise out of the sea and earth during the great tribulation? During the great tribulation, evil will increase on the earth including the rise of the Antichrist (1st Beast) and False Prophet (2nd Beast), (Revelation 13:1-18). The Antichrist will rise out of the sea and the False Prophet will rise out of the earth where both beasts will receive their power from the Dragon (Satan) to complete their evil trinity. They will cause all to accept the mark of the beast in order to be a citizen of the world, to work, play, buy, or sell, etc. Everyone that receives the mark will be condemned to eternal hell by God (Revelation 14:9-11). Anyone that rejects the mark and becomes saved through Jesus will be persecuted and possibly killed by the Antichrist but will experience eternal life in heaven. (Revelation 7:9-17).
  23. What will happen on the Great Judgement Day? This is God’s final judgement that will bring condemnation to the wicked and rewards to the righteous, those that followed Jesus. This will be a great white throne where the angels and saints will be there with Jesus, clothed in white robes. No one will be able to escape this final judgement. It will be between us and God. There will be no arguments, excuses, or plea bargaining. When we die on this earth as our first death, we will later experience His great judgement day (Matthew 25:41, Acts 17:30-31, Romans 2:5-11, Hebrews 9:27-28). We will all appear before Jesus at His great white throne (2 Corinthians 5:10). Everyone will be judged according to their words spoken, actions, works, and deeds (Job 34:10-11, Psalms 62:12, Proverbs 24:12, Revelation 20:12).
  24. What does it mean to put on the whole armor of God? God's word clearly explains who our true enemy is which is not against flesh and blood but against evil darkness within the spiritual realms. The bible tells us to put on the whole armor of God to withstand the against the schemes of the devil (Satan) and his evil forces (Ephesians 6:11-12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6). We must fasten on the belt of truth, attach the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit (word of God), and praying at all times in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:13-18).
  25. Why has lawless and evil increased in all the earth? The bible foretold that these wicked things would happen in the last days, where lawlessness would increase and the love of many would grow cold. Jesus explains these last days as beginning sorrows or birth pains that would increase in frequency and intensity leading up to the great tribulationJesus, approximately 2,000 years ago, told his disciples that these things would happen (Matthew 24:8-12).
  26. If God is love, then why is there so much evil, pain, and suffering in the world? This is one of the toughest questions to answer since many times we do not fully understand why God allows so much pain and suffering to happen in the world. Or why God allows so much evil to take place in the world? Why did He allow Satan to roam the earth as our enemy or why did He not send Satan and his evil followers to another planet or to the abyss? Many people may believe that God does not exist or does not care due to all the pain, suffering, and evil taking place in the world. Often, we turn bitter and become angry at God when we experience hurt and suffering since we may feel like it is undeserving and we ask the question, why me? God does not reveal everything to us since He is the all sovereign and all powerful, Most High God. Many of our questions may go unanswered, but we are told that God’s word is sufficient for us (Deuteronomy 29:29, Ecclesiastes 8:17). Today, we may not have a full comprehension to all our questions, but everything will be crystal clear in the afterlife (1 Corinthians 13:12). Read More HERE...
  27. Why will there be a great tribulation? The great tribulation period is a final attempt for God to get unbelievers and those that have rejected God to wake up and realize that there really is a supreme being and all powerful God that loves them and that Jesus was sent 2,000 years ago as His only Son. This is also a time for God to save some of the Jewish people and Gentiles by sending two witnesses (Revelation 11:1-14). Jesus raptures all the bible believing Christians prior to or at the beginning of the great tribulation as another sign that the bible and gospel of Jesus Christ is the truth. This is also a time of God's wrath to be poured out on all the evil and wicked (lawless) people that He knows will never accept Him. Those that never repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior before they die or during the tribulation period will be swept up and deceived by the Antichrist (beast powered by Satan) and will experience eternal condemnation at the great white throne judgement day.
  28. Why will there be a new heaven and new earth with a new holy city, Jerusalem? In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). He created them to be perfect. God also created a perfect garden of Eden on earth for mankind to populate. Because Adam and Eve sinned against God, the earth and the garden became cursed from the first deceptive sin by Satan, the serpent (Genesis 3:1-6). Before Satan deceived Eve, the garden of Eden was a perfect creation by God and was without sin. God cursed mankind and the earth because of this first sin committed (Genesis 3:17). Since the beginning of creation, God’s word has promised in various locations of the scriptures that there would eventually be new heavens and a new earth (Isaiah 51:6, Isaiah 65:17-25, Isaiah 66:22-24, 1 Corinthians 7:31, 2 Peter 3:7, 1 John 2:17). This eternal punishment includes Satan and his fallen angels, since Satan (Lucifer) committed the first sin of pride in heaven and deceived a third of the angels (Isaiah 14:12-16, Ezekiel 28:12-19, Revelation 12:3-4, Revelation 12:9, Revelation 20:10). This why new heavens and a new earth along with a new holy city, Jerusalem, are required, since God wants to make all things new or like it was in the garden of Eden. The righteous shall dwell forever with the Lord and worship Him in the new heavens and new earth (Psalms 102:25-28). READ More HERE...
  29. What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit? When you become a believer in Christ, you receive eternal life (salvation) by God’s grace and His free gift upon believing in faith that Jesus was the Son of God and that He paid the price in His death for our sins and was resurrected to be in heaven with His Father. As you are saved by faith through Jesus, you can also be filled with the Holy Spirit by faith. When you are saved, your life is transformed where you are a new creation in Jesus. Your old sinful self has died with Christ and your new life in the Spirit has been resurrected with Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-19, Ephesians 4:22-24). In order to be filled with the Holy Spirit, you must seek God first through Christ where everything else will be added (Matthew 6:33). You perform this act of obedience by living out God’s commandments in your life by being doers of His word (James 1:19-27). You must hunger and thirst for God by seeking Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Deuteronomy 10:12-13). We cannot expect to be filled with the Holy Spirit if we do NOT deny ourselves before Christ. We must humble ourselves and take up His cross to be a true follower of Jesus (Mark 8:34-38). 30. Why is it impossible to please God in the flesh? God is not flesh but is a spirit, and an all consuming fire. Therefore, the scriptures tell us that we can only please God in the spirit and not in the flesh - Romans 8:13-17. READ More HERE...
  31. Is God replenishing Heaven through His Son Jesus? Yes, because God gave us His most precious possession, His one and only Son Jesus, His love for us is unfailing and unimaginable. It is difficult to put into words the love that God has for us. Because Jesus died for us and was risen to be with the Father at His right side on the throne, He said He goes to prepare a place for us - John 14:1-6. The bible tells us that there is plenty of room in heaven and that God is replenishing heaven through His Son Jesus. READ More HERE...
  32. Does God really know us better than we know ourselves? Yes, God the Father, our awesome Creator, knows much more about us than we will ever know about ourselves - Psalms 139:1-10. READ More HERE...
  33. Does God really desire to heal us through His Son Jesus? Yes, He does. However, this is a very touchy topic since not everyone experiences physical healing when they were expecting it. By His stripes we have been healed - Isaiah 53:5-6. When Jesus walked on earth 2,000 years ago, He healed everyone He came in contact with. When Jesus left to be with the Father, He sent us His Holy Spirit which equipped future disciples with the gift of healing to be able to pray for healing for those according to God's will.
