The enemy performs evil acts in this world for his purpose, which goes against God, but the miraculous God almighty uses them for His own good, purpose, and glory. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many have called this a plan-demic (instead of a natural disaster) since it appears that this was orchestrated by the elites of the world in order to usher in a revised world economic system and economic recovery, revised world environment and climate control, revised government-controlled one world religion (COEXIST), and a revised worldly society where the government would gain more power and control over its people rather than serving the people, known as the Great Reset. In June 2020, the World Economic Forum (WEF) held its 50th annual meeting with the theme titled as the “Great Reset”. In May 2021, the WEF held its 51st annual meeting with the exact same theme, the “Great Reset”. Their grand plan is no longer kept secret and has been disclosed across multiple sites on the internet. The biggest threat to society is that in the future it will no longer be a free society but will be a one world, government-controlled society where the peoples’ rights will be taken away and violated by the formation of a new world order of global communism. As the scriptures tell us, this must take place for the Antichrist to rise to power during the last days. These elites are under the sway of the wicked one as we read in 1 John 5:19, “…and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” For these wicked people that are under the influence of the enemy (2 Corinthians 4:4, John 12:31) are performing acts of evil that God will end up using for His own good, purpose, and glory. God gives us an example of how Jacob loved his son Joseph the most where Joseph’s eleven other brothers became very jealous of Him. They sought to kill him but ended up getting rid of him by selling him as a slave. Through Joseph’s pain and struggles, God promoted Joseph to become second in command of all Egypt to save His people during a great famine as explained in Genesis 50:20, “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” God is the all knowing, all powerful, and sovereign God. He sees all and hears all as we read in Proverbs 15:3, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” God is NOT the author of confusion – 1 Corinthians 14:33.
When Paul experienced major tribulations during his ministry (2 Corinthians 11:24-33), he counted his trials for Christ as good blessings and was able to fellowship with Christ through His sufferings –Philippians 3:7-11, Romans 5:3-5. The main focus of the trials that Paul experienced in Christ were for expanding the gospel and increasing God’s kingdom for God’s glory in Christ – Philippians 1:12, 2 Corinthians 11:24-33. It is extremely important that we remain in prayer and continue in God’s word daily during trials, disasters, times of trouble, and good times while maintaining love for one another. For nothing is impossible for God – Luke 1:37. As we experience trials, we should depend more upon Him. Whatever God uses to draw us closer to Him is best for us whether we like it or not. God has good plans for us as we seek Him with all our heart as the prophet Jeremiah stated in Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will hear you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” Despite the circumstances we face, we must always fear the Lord and put our total trust in Him – Psalms 56:3-11. Therefore, we must choose daily of whom we will serve, God or ourselves (Satan)? – Joshua 24:14-15, Matthew 6:24, Colossians 3:23-24, 1 Corinthians 10:21. Every decision should be made according to God’s will for us – James 4:13-16. Blessed is the one that remains faithful to God during their trials – James 1:12-15. God is in control of all things, both the good and the bad – Lamentations 3:37-38. He is Lord over all as we read in Isaiah 45:5-7, “…I am the LORD, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things.” God, the God of love, mercy, sovereignty, and righteousness, has always existed, and is PERFECT in every way – Deuteronomy 32:4, Job 37:16, Psalms 18:30, Matthew 5:48. The bible also tells us that God cannot be tempted and He does NOT tempt anyone. He watches over all and uses evil for His own good and glory – Genesis 50:20, Proverbs 15:3, Proverbs 16:4, Romans 8:28, Romans 12:21. God has always existed and there is no other god besides Him – Deuteronomy 32:39.
Many will rebel and doubt that God is a god of love and say, “How can the supreme being and Creator of the heavens and earth be a God of love with so much evil and trauma in the world? How can He allow so much death to take place? How can He allow me and my household to struggle so severely?” These are difficult questions, but Jesus foretold that in the world we would experience trials and that the world would grow extremely dark during the last days or at the beginning of sorrows leading up to the 7-year tribulation period – Matthew 24:3-8. God does not reveal everything to us since He is the Most High God – Deuteronomy 29:29. We may have many unanswered questions concerning the COVID pandemic or other pandemics, disasters, and crisis that God has allowed to take place in our lives, but we are told that God’s word is sufficient for us – Deuteronomy 29:29, Ecclesiastes 8:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17. His word explains everything we need to know to follow Him while He carries us through the trials and tribulations – Psalms 19:7-14, Hebrews 4:12, Romans 1:16, Ephesians 6:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We may end up rejecting God because we have, first, invented a different god in our own minds that appeals to our own individual desires and lusts that does not reflect who God really is from what the scriptures tell us. Therefore, in this sense, He fails our perception of Him when we experience pain and suffering at a time when we were expecting only blessings and good things. At a time when we were anticipating good health, wealth, and prosperity through several prayers, where instead, everything may fall apart where we rebel against God by showing Him disobedience through pride (Isaiah 14:12-14, Ezekiel 28:14-18) and sin in our life that almost always causes our own suffering. If we did NOT receive suffering while being disobedient, then we would keep on sinning without any consequences – Isaiah 57:21, Proverbs 5:22, Proverbs 12:21-22. Through Jesus, we are transformed as a new creation in the Spirit while leaving behind the cares of this world and focusing on God’s will for us – Romans 12:2. We must NOT envy the luxurious and fun-filled life that the sinners appear to have, but must keep our eyes on Jesus, the main prize, during both the good times and the bad – Proverbs 23:17-18, Proverbs 24:1-2.
God stores up disasters and destruction for the wicked but at the same time uses these trials to bring His wandering sheep back to Him – Job 31:2-4, Proverbs 1:28-33, Luke 15:3-7. Many times, God fulfills His will and direction for us during our trials as we overcome them through Him and for His good purpose – Psalms 119:71-72. We may not have a full comprehension to all our questions, but everything will be crystal clear in the afterlife when we are with our Lord – 1 Corinthians 13:12. We cannot question God’s ways, His sovereignty, His mercy, or His righteousness – 1 Chronicles 29:11-12, Psalms 115:3, Daniel 4:35. For His ways are PERFECT and above our ways – Deuteronomy 32:4, Isaiah 55:9-11. God provides mercy and compassion for whoever He chooses – Romans 9:14-16. God DOES have a purpose for ALL OF US whether we know it or not. He even has a purpose for the wicked as we read in Proverbs 16:4, “The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.” This same message is repeated in Job 21:30, “For the wicked are reserved for the day of doom; they shall be brought out on the day of wrath.” When God used Moses and Aaron to deal with Pharoah of Egypt to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt away from bondage, He hardened Pharoah’s heart by adding more miraculous signs, wonders, and plaques for His purpose and glory, so that He would be known as the one true God throughout the world. We see this in Exodus 7:1-5, “So the LORD said to Moses: ‘See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land. And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.’ ” God chose Pharaoh and the Egyptians as an example to show His mighty power so that all the earth would know Him and fear Him as explained in Romans 9:17, “For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, ‘For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.’ ” Oh, how the world quickly forgets God? God also shows us how He uses plaques, famines, and pestilences on the land in order to show the world who He is but to also rebuke and discipline His people to come back to Him from a life of sin so that He will hear their prayers and will heal their land as we read in 2 Chronicles 7:12-18, “Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now, I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.’ ” God instructs Solomon to keep His commandments and to walk as his father David did in order to remain in His blessings which would fulfill God’s promise of the coming throne and new covenant of Jesus, the Messiah. We must NOT abandon nor forsake God for He goes ahead of those that love and seek Him as Ezra states in Ezra 8:22, “…The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.” God works in mysterious ways and His ways are much higher and above our ways. Who are we to question His ways? – Isaiah 46:9-10, Isaiah 55:8-11, Jeremiah 18:5-10, Psalms 103:11-12, Romans 9:19-24, Romans 11:29-36, Ephesians 3:20-21.
Many of the struggles that we have experienced during the COVID pandemic (or plan-demic) lockdowns and world-wide recession should have brought us closer to God or brought us back to God, especially if we had wandered away from the faith or stumbled in our walk with Christ. If the trials of COVID or something else pushed you away from God through a rebellion against Him or by blaming Him, this was NOT God’s purpose and ultimate plan for you. Jesus tells us that we will experience trials but to have hope in Him as stated in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” God uses the evil things of this world for His good and for those that love Him and do His will – Romans 8:28. We are NOT to be overwhelmed by evil but to overcome evil with good – Romans 12:21. If we are children of God, we must understand that from time to time we will be disciplined by God as a father should discipline his kids. We must continue to love God and praise Him through Christ Jesus during our corrections and disciplines as explained in Proverbs 3:11-12, “My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; for whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Also, we are to be happy and rejoiceful at the Lord’s chastening in Job 5:17, “Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; therefore, do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.” We should count these as blessings when God rebukes us since He only corrects and chastens those that He loves. If God does NOT discipline us then we are NOT considered His children as we read in Hebrews 12:5-11, “And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: ‘My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.’ If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Being disciplined is never an easy pill to swallow, but Jesus tells us to be zealous and to repent as stated in Revelation 3:19, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent.” We will suffer trials in order to test and strengthen our faith – 1 Peter 1:6-9. We are destined for trials and afflictions – 1 Thessalonians 3:3-5. God, often, uses pain and suffering to alert us to danger or remind us that we need to get back on track in His will for us. He is closest to us when we are experiencing pain and suffering – Psalms 34:18. He is the Potter, and we are the Clay. The Clay cannot question the Potter – Isaiah 45:9, Philippians 2:13. Many times, it is difficult when we experience God’s ways of molding and shaping us into His perfection. We learn lifelong lessons from the Father during our trials and tribulation, which strengthens our Christian faith and walk with Him. This prepares us to help and comfort other inexperienced saints and unbelievers that are facing similar trials.
Jesus tells us NOT to fear men or the enemy of this world but to only fear God as explained in Matthew 10:28, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Greater is He who lives in us then he (Satan) who lives in the world – 1 John 4:4. As we are God’s creation, we were created for Him and to serve only Him through Christ. Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s – Romans 14:7-9. As God’s children, Paul tells us that whether we are awake (alive) or asleep (dead in the flesh), we live with Christ Jesus – 1 Thessalonians 5:10. Paul explained that to die is gain since we will be in the presence of the Lord – Philippians 1:20-21, 2 Corinthians 5:7-8. We must not get wrapped up in the things of this world since these are temporary. We should focus solely on eternal things (treasures in heaven – Matthew 6:19-21) which cannot be destroyed or seen by the naked eye – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. For this life is like a vapor of smoke that quickly disappears compared to eternity – James 4:14, 1 Peter 1:24. When we are obedient to God through Jesus, His perfect love for us and living within us casts out all fear – 1 John 4:18. When we only fear God and serve Him through Christ Jesus, we can boldly take a stance for Christ by living a Christian life in this sinful world. This walk for Jesus does not come without sacrifice, sufferings, trials, and tribulations. The cost of discipleship and setbacks we experience for Christ in this present life are temporary and no way compare to the glory we will receive in eternal life with our Lord and Savior – Romans 8:18. Peter also stated that we are blessed and should rejoice when we experience sufferings for Christ’s name’s sake so that God will be glorified – 1 Peter 4:12-19.In Christ, we have His prayers and intercession that continue for us to God the Father. Jesus prayed to God the Father, NOT for the world, but for all His followers and disciples. He prayed that the body of Christ would be protected from the enemy – John 17:9-19.
