Are We Living in the Last Days or What the Bible Describes as Birthing Pains?

Last-Days

Why are evil and lawlessness on the rise everywhere! What is to blame for these major increases in acts of violence, disorder, chaos, and anarchy? Is the coronavirus pandemic ultimately to blame or something else? What about the rising attacks on the Church and against God’s word, where Churches are being shutdown with preachers thrown in jail? What about the Christians who are being persecuted in India, Iran, Pakistan, Russian, China and North Korea to name a few? Or how about the recent Easter message that was turned upside down by the former pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Senator Warnock of Georgia, where he preached that “we are able to save ourselves.” What about the rising young gay star and rapper singer, Lil Nas X, promoting his Satanic music video and Satan Nike shoes that feature a bronze pentagram and a drop of human blood? Worse, what about the preacher of America’s largest church that constantly promotes wealth and prosperity and who supported Lil Nas? Or what about the rise in hate between families? Are these increases in evil and lawlessness around the globe signaling we are living in the last days as the bible described as the birthing pains or beginning of sorrows? Deadly earthquakesvolcano eruptions, floods, wildfires, extreme and bizarre weather patterns, and other major disasters are on the rise. Plaques of coronavirusswine fever, bubonic, septicemic, locustsrats, birds, and more are increasing. Demonic possessions, UFO sightings, government coups, violent riotsracisms, and deadly crimes are on the rise. The bible foretold that these things would happen in the last days (end of days) similar to the wicked days of Noah’s time and the days of Lot (Sodom & Gomorrah). Jesus explained these last days over 2,000 years ago, where they would be similar to birthing pains that would increase in frequency and intensity before He raptured the church and prior to the great tribulation as we read in Matthew 24:4-8, “…See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” The gospel of Luke also describes it as earthly terrors and great signs from heaven – Luke 21:11. Jesus continued explaining in Matthew 24:9-12, “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.” This passage of scripture tells us that during these end of days family members, relatives, and friends would turn against each other where love would grow cold and hatred would increase. Love ones will hate their own flesh and blood because of Jesus. Christians will be persecuted and put to death because of Jesus as stated in Luke 21:12-19, “But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for My name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.”

No one knows the day or hour except God the Father of when Jesus will return to rapture the Saints or when He will return for His second coming in great power and glory as stated in Mark 13:32-33, “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.” Jesus does tell us that He will return when the last days are like the days of Noah and Lot – Matthew 24:37-39, Luke 17:26-30. Jesus also provides some insight on how we know when the different seasons are approaching, likewise, we will also know of His soon return as He explained in Matthew 24:32-33, “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that He is near, at the very gates.” The apostle Paul explains that we should be fully aware of the end times and seasons and that the coming of the Lord will resemble like a thief in the night to those that remain in darkness as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, “Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘There is peace and security,’ then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

Today, many Churches have gone astray. They are no longer preaching biblical messages. These appear to be performing God’s ministry but are misleading many. They do NOT have a relationship with Jesus. These false Churches have given into demonic spirits as stated in 1 Timothy 4:1-2, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared.” They have become scoffers who seek after their own lustful desires – 2 Peter 3:3-4, Jude 1:18-19. Other spiritually dead churches that may teach so-called sound doctrines, lack to ever mention the name of Jesus. If Jesus is mentioned, He is casually mentioned or when mentioned it is insincere while omitting the altar call and sinner’s prayer, thereby, neglecting the path to true salvation. The gospel message has been replaced by the synagogue of Satan. Rather than giving up money, material possessions, worldly lusts, and fear of losing church members, repentance is far from them. These Churches have chosen to conform to the world by worshipping themselves and creation rather than  God (Jesus) – Romans 1:24-27. Jesus tells us that we cannot serve two masters, God and ourselves (money). We will either love one and hate the other – Luke 16:13-15. We will either serve God or Satan1 Corinthians 10:21. Luke gives us warnings in the book of Acts 20:28-30, “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with His own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.” When these Churches pray, Jesus has also been removed from their prayers. When Jesus (the true light) is rejected or denied, Satan and his evil dominions (darkness) are invoked upon the earth. We can see this happening in America today: On Sunday, January 3, 2021, a known Methodist pastor for over 37 years and a Democratic US Representative from Missouri, Emanuel Cleaver, opened the 117th Congress with a prayer at the US Capitol for peace and racial reconciliation but ended his prayer WITHOUT the name of Jesus. He ended the prayer with blasphemous words by the mentioning “in the name of the monotheistic god, Brahma, and god known by many names by many different faiths, Amen and A-women.” Exactly three days later, on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, the US Capitol and lawmaker’s chambers and offices were stormed and breached leaving destruction, 5 deaths with several injuries, and several laws violated. Immediately after this event resulted in our nation’s lawmakers and military dispatching up to 7,000 National Guard troops to remain in Washington DC with barricades surrounding the US Capitol for over 4 months later. On February 26, 2021, during the Equality Act debate on Capitol Hill, Republican Jerry Nadler of NJ stated “…God’s will is NO concern of this Congress.Beware of God’s soon wrath on America if we do not repent! God’s word is very clear that we are NOT to worship any other gods for God is a very jealous God – Exodus 34:13-14, Deuteronomy 5:7-9, Matthew 4:10.

These are perilous times we are seeing today and we were forewarned about these in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” As the days of Noah and the great flood, God’s wrath will also resemble the days of Sodom & Gomorrah as we read in Luke 17:28-30, “Likewise, as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” God is storing up His wrath for the wicked unbelievers (non-Christians) who have continued to reject God and His word. Peter instructs us beforehand so that we will not fall away and will remain in God’s truth, through Jesus – 2 Peter 3:17-18. Even though we see much darkness in the world and fear for our nation, God is still in control. While the darkness seems to be getting darker, we have hope in our Almighty God through Christ Jesus. God is still on His heavenly throne with Jesus on His right side. He knows the beginning from the end. Nothing happens in heaven or on earth that He does not have full control over. Nothing can stand against Him – Isaiah 45:5-7. The Lord and His kingdom rules over all – Psalms 103:19. God is the creator of the heavens and the earth including all living things. We are all in His hands – Job 12:10. God neither sleeps nor slumbers – Psalms 121:2-4He knows all our thoughts. God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, omnibenevolent, etc. It is impossible to put into words the awesome power of God. Because we are believers, we are aliens of this world and our true home is in heaven with our Lord Jesus – Philippians 3:20-21. For with God, nothing is impossible – Luke 1:37. We can have peace and put our minds at ease as we read in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Even though the dark clouds that hover over us never seem to end, we can have hope in 1 John 4:4, “…for He (Jesus) who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world.” Jesus tells us to NOT fear men or evil forces but to fear only God who can destroy both the soul and body – Matthew 10:28Our hearts can take rest since ALL things work together for good for those that love God and are called according to His purpose – Romans 8:28-30. All Christians will be spared from God’s wrath like Noah’s family (Great Flood) and Lot’s family (Sodom & Gomorrah) were spared during their time of God’s wrath (Luke 17:26-30) as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11, “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

As Christians and believers in Christ, we are called to expose, reject, and silence these false doctrines and foolish teachings since they lead many astray. We cannot let these go on deaf ears and must object to the hypocrisy and blasphemous words that are being taught today – Titus 1:10-16We are commanded NOT to be ashamed of Jesus and the gospel message. For Jesus told us that He will also be ashamed of us if we are ashamed of Him – Luke 9:26. So, let’s put on the whole armor of God by walking in the spirit and resist all forms of evil and darkness – Romans 13:12-14Jesus, our beloved Savior and Redeemer, gives us hope for the great judgement day since in Him alone we have true salvation – John 12:48-50Jesus, alone, saves us from eternal condemnation and destruction – John 3:18-21. Before Jesus ascended into heaven (2,000 years ago), He told us He would return for us as we read in John 14:2-3 “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” Since we died and were raised with Christ in the Spirit, we are born again and must put our focus on heavenly things while seeking Him during these last daysColossians 3:1-4. If we seek Jesus by praying always and by resisting the cares of this world, the rapture will NOT take us by surprise, and we will be counted worthy to escape the great tribulationLuke 21:34-36.
