Are You Blind Six Days Each Week?

Sword-of-Spirit-1

What does it mean to be blind six days per week? If you live for and fellowship with the world every day of the week and only devote an hour or so one day a week by attending a church service, then you are blinded six days each week, if not the entire week. If you only see a few scriptures or hear some bible verses during a church service once per week, you are experiencing extreme spiritual malnourishment. You are suffering spiritual death as you live for the world each week without being entrenched in God’s word at all until you hear a 30–45-minute sermon once per week. While our flesh is well fed, our spirit is denied, rejected, and refused to a severe starvation in Christ. We are blinded each week and cannot see where we are going in this spiritual walk and are tempted by the enemy to be led astray as detailed in Ephesians 4:14, “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.” This is where we give the devil an opportunity to devour us since we are going through life and entering this spiritual battle without the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of GodEphesians 4:27, Hebrews 13:9, 1 Peter 5:8. We are NOT fully equipped with the full armor of God. Do soldiers go to war without their swords or weapons? Certainly NOT! We war against hidden forces of darkness within the supernatural realm and NOT against human flesh as stated in Ephesians 6:11-12, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Always keep your sword with you and know how to use it by being imbedded in God’s word daily while living it out in your life since it opens our eyes to the dark forces that continuously surround us as expressed in Psalms 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God’s word directs our paths and provides us with His light by revealing His truth for righteous discernment in this dark worldProverbs 6:23, Psalms 139:3, Luke 1:79, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Ephesians 5:14, Hebrews 4:12-13, 2 Peter 1:19-21. If we are NOT studying His word and praying daily, how can we be discerners of what is truth and what is false? The devil transforms himself into an angel of light and raises up false teachers to mislead many away from the truth as detailed in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

There is great power in the word of God as explained in Psalms 33:6, “By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” God spoke creation into existence and formed light out of darkness by His words – Genesis 1:1-5, Psalms 33:9, Psalms 148:5, Isaiah 45:7, Hebrews 11:3. God’s word is the truth, living, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating through to the soul and spirit to where we will all give an account to Him one day according to His word as revealed in Hebrews 4:12-13, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” His word is our instruction for righteousness where we can be complete in Him for His purpose as expressed in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” His word provides us with the ONLY true light that shines in this dark place as stated in 2 Peter 1:19-21, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” Many times, we avoid God’s word because it condemns us and our actions. If we are living in darkness by continuously practicing sin, we refrain from being exposed by the light – John 3:19-20. We may even reject fellowshipping with the Lord and His word daily because we are living in pride and arrogance where obedience and being humble to Him are NOT in our vocabulary. When Jesus came to the earth 2,000 years ago, He was completely obedient and totally committed through pure humbleness to God the Father and His will. He came as God in the flesh, God’s only Son, offering us salvation through His gospel that is never changing. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever – John 14:6, Hebrews 13:8. Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away but My words will never pass away – Luke 21:33.

Jesus is the word of God as revealed in John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Paul explains Jesus as being over all things by the authority given to Him by God the Father as stated in Colossians 1:13-18, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” There is salvation through ONLY one Messiah, Jesus, as stated in Acts 4:12, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Jesus is the light of the world and savior of all mankind sent by God the Father as explained in John 12:44-50, “…He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

When Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights while being tempted by the devil, this was an appropriate time for Him to break bread, but He put God’s word above the desires of the flesh and showed us that being spiritually fed was much more important than feeding the flesh as expressed in Matthew 4:1-4, “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ But He answered and said, ‘It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” His flesh was nearly half dead where the angels had to minister to Him after being tempted as we read in Matthew 4:11, “Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.” Jesus also told us that the Pharisees were blinded to knowing Him as being the Messiah and Son of God despite them seeing all the miracles He had performed. Jesus reveals the fulfilled prophecy from Isaiah about the Pharisees having dull hearts, clogged ears, and closed eyes as stated in Matthew 13:13-15, “Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: hearing you will hear and shall not understand and seeing you will see and not perceive; for the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.” Jesus continues explaining that the blindness of the world will lead each other in a ditch or into destruction as God the Father will uproot them as revealed in Matthew 15:13-14, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

If we only give God in Christ praise, worship, honor, and glory only one hour or less, one day a week, then we are NOT living for Him and according to His will for us nor are we keeping His commandments. We are NOT making Him our Lord and Savior and we are fooling ourselves as detailed in 1 John 2:15-17, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” James continues this similar explanation as expressed in James 4:4, “…Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” Jesus tells us we do NOT love Him if we do NOT keep His word and commandments as stated in John 14:23-24, “…If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” If this is the case, we are ONLY hearers of the word and NOT doers of the word where we easily forget the truth and the meaning of His word and commandmentsJames 1:21-25, Matthew 7:24-27, Luke 6:46-49. If we are forgetful of His word, then we are guilty of NOT keeping His commandments and according to the scriptures we have NO love for God in Christ. We are guilty of living a lie as Jesus stated from the prophet Isaiah in Matthew 15:8-9, “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” Jesus calls us His family ONLY if we do His will as explained in Mark 3:35, “For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.” Jesus tells us we will NOT enter into heaven unless we keep His commandments by doing His will as revealed in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

Paul tells us that grace will NOT abound for the continued practice of living in sin as stated in Romans 6:1-11, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” If we do NOT follow Christ, we are blinded in darkness and headed for eternal destruction. Jesus taught His disciples to become sons of the light as revealed in John 12:35-36, “Then Jesus said to them, ‘A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.’ These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.” Jesus said we must deny ourselves daily to follow Him as stated in Luke 9:23-26, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.”

God looks at our hearts where we look upon outward appearances – 1 Samuel 16:7, 2 Corinthian 4:6. God is the Father of all light where Jesus is the light of the world – James 1:17, John 9:5. Sometime after the resurrection of Jesus, or approximately 4 years or more, He appeared to Saul (Paul) who had been persecuting Christians and destroying His church. Jesus temporarily blinded Paul and converted him to become a minister and witness for the gospel to the Gentiles in order to convert the lost from the darkness of the world to open their eyes to the light of Christ as stated in Acts 26:15-18, “…I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ ” Paul tells us NOT to walk as the world does in fleshly blindness but to walk in the Spirit as a new creation formed by the light of Christ as detailed in Ephesians 4:17-24, “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

As born-again believers, we are children of God and sons of the light in Christ. We are no longer children of darkness as explained in Ephesians 5:8-13, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.” We have crucified our old sinful flesh and have been baptized by His Holy Spirit into a new creation by God in Christ as stated in 1 Corinthians 2:12-16, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For ‘who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” Because Christ died for us, and we have the mind of Christ through God’s Holy Spirit we should live for Him and fellowship with Him daily by feeding our Spirit through living by His word, commandments, and instructions with continued prayer while glorifying Him with our praise and worship. By doing this daily, we will live and fellowship with the light of Christ and will NOT be spiritually blinded. We will know Him and He will know us – John 10:27-28. We will be able to carry out His commandment by letting our light shine in the world before others where God the Father will be glorified – Matthew 5:14-16.

If it were easy to follow and serve God in Christ, everyone would do it! If you are NOT obedient and actively seeking the soon return of Jesus, our Lord & Savior, you may NOT be counted as a worthy bride – Luke 21:36. Suppose you lived in medieval times and the king of the land gave you a command, but you did NOT do it. What would happen? Death by execution? Torture by punishment? Imprisonment? Is the Son of the living GodJesus our Lord and Savior and His authority NOT of much more value than a king of the land? This is why Jesus said many would follow the easy and wide path of the world (the world is under the sway and trance of Satan and his evil demons – John 15:18-19Romans 1:28-32Ephesians 2:1-3James 4:41 John 2:151 John 5:19Revelation 12:9) into destruction where only a few would take the difficult and narrow path to heaven as stated in Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” So, take the narrow and difficult path that leads to everlasting life in Christ! – Matthew 22:36-40.

Do you know where you will spend eternity after you die on earth? Will Jesus be your Lord and Savior or your eternal judge – John 3:15-21Romans 2:162 Timothy 4:1? Jesus says He is the narrow gate to heaven where it is difficult to find and only a few will enter by it where many will enter the easy, wide and broad gate that leads to Hell and destruction – Matthew 7:13-14. Will you experience the second eternal death (spiritual death) – Revelation 2:11Revelation 20:6Revelation 21:8? Do you know for sure that you are written in the eternal Lamb’s Book of Life – Revelation 3:5Revelation 20:12-15? The place called Hell is NOT a myth and is very real and an extremely awful place – Watch this Video!
